'Happy Mother's Day' makes me wince a little. What I wish we could say instead

That's a mouthful. It doesn't fit inside the space between swiping your credit card and the cashier handing you your items. So the cashier says “Happy Mother's Day.” Or the minister says it. Or the barista says it. Or your neighbor. And maybe it will be happy.
