A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect Monday until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The severe thunderstorm watch has been canceled in northern parts of the area. It will likely be ended early locally, as well.

There is a chance the storm will produce strong wind gusts and some hail. Wind gusts of 55 miles per hour are possible.
